I am following the dream I have had since I was 16 years old. At that time, it occurred to me that some things in life are not necessarily as they may appear, and I wanted to share this with everyone who needed guidance towards understanding this concept, patients and students alike. It is my desire to help people feel the best that they can and to live their life to the fullest while minimizing the effects of mental illness. Utilizing multiple approaches, I attempt to treat each person wholly and individually. This multi-pronged process increases the prognosis and success of treatment.

Mental illness is a broad term to describe a wide range of mental health conditions, including disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and post-traumatic stress disorder. These conditions can disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others, and daily functioning. Mental health problems can range from mild to severe. Symptoms can include changes in mood, thought patterns, behavior, and the ability to cope with everyday life. Treatment for mental illness typically involves a combination of psychotherapy, medication, and lifestyle changes.

There is no definitive way to know without a professional diagnosis, but here are some common symptoms:
